Seoul Dulle Gil Stage 7: Bongsan and World Cup Stadium

Seoul Dulle Gil Stage 7: Bongsan and World Cup Stadium

Why Hike This Section

It’s a nice mix of hills and flat trails, perfect for a long run. The steepest section is the climb to the watchtowers on Bongsan Mountain. The majority of the trail is flat, especially from Gayang Bridge through the World Cup Stadium park. Along the way, the trail passes through a new eco-zone. In the early 2000s, Seoul transformed an ugly trash dump into a series of beautiful new parks. The trash is buried beneath acres of public green space now. You can see the incinerator from the Han River Park trails on the opposite side of the river between Gayang and Seongsan bridges.

Level of Difficulty and Type of Terrain

Undulating mild hills, with long flat stretches. This section involves a lot of pavement as it passes through several city parks and across the Gayang bridge.

Miles and Hours

The total course for Section 7 is about 10.5 miles (16.6 km). It can easily be completed in 3 or 4 hours.
