During our third Round the World vagabonding adventure in 2024, we were joined by my mom and C’s family in the United Kingdom for a two week road trip.
As a couple, attuned to each other’s needs and expectations, we tend to travel slowly and quietly in places off the beaten path. When choreographing a mixed ensemble of busy Koreans (빨리 빨리) and my American mother — each with his or her own pace, palate, and interests — we embraced the multi-cultural complexity, adjusted our pace, and simply reveled in the joy of being TOURISTS.
This road trip required an artful execution of translation and compromise by all during a jam-packed tour of London, Stonehenge, Windsor, Edinburgh, Scottish Highlands, Isle of Skye, and Glasgow.
